Paulownia is one of the lightest woods in my country, with an air-dry density between 0.19 and 0.40, which varies with species and site conditions. Sichuan Paulownia, White Paulownia, and Lankao Paulownia are relatively light, belonging to the very light grade; Tomentosa, Catalpa Paulownia, and Light Paulownia are extremely light. Density and strength are important criteria for evaluating the quality of wood. Wood that can meet both high strength and low density is considered high quality, and is usually measured by the quality coefficient (ultimate strength/air-dry density). Although the mechanical strength of paulownia is not great, its quality coefficient is similar to that of wood commonly used in solid wood furniture, and some even exceed it.

Moisture-resistant and moisture-proof. On the one hand, because paulownia is not easy to warp and deform, the furniture can always remain sealed and is not easily corroded by moisture, smoke, insects, etc. On the other hand, the cell wall of paulownia has a high cellulose content and is very sensitive to air humidity.
